Regulation Best Interest (Reg BI) asks a broker-dealer that recommends a security to a retail customer to act in that customer's best interest, and its care obligation starts before any customer is in view: the firm understands the security's risks, rewards and costs. agent-regbi.ai points an agent at the issuer half of that understanding — 7693 exchange-listed filers, built from EDGAR alone, stored and served in Virginia.

1 The duty, in United States

1.1

Rule: 17 CFR 240.15l-1 under the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, adopted by the SEC in 2019, binding on broker-dealers since 30 June 2020; FINRA examines member firms against it.

1.2

Care obligation: reasonable diligence, care and skill to understand the potential risks, rewards and costs of a recommendation, then a reasonable basis to believe it is in this customer's best interest.

The other three obligations — disclosure, conflict of interest, and the written policies — sit beside care and are the firm's own.

1.4

What stays with the broker-dealer: the recommendation, the customer profile and the record of both. Reg BI is the firm's obligation; the record supplies what an agent reads about the issuer.

2 What the record answers under Reg BI

2.1

The filer behind the ticker: legal name, CIK, exchange and ticker from the SEC list of exchange-listed companies, LEI where a GLEIF record in a US jurisdiction matches exactly.

2.2

What the issuer filed: the EDGAR filings index for twelve months — 8-K items, 10-K, 10-Q, proxy, insider and ownership forms — each dated with its accession link.

2.3

Who audits it: the auditor name and location from the cover-page tags of the latest annual report, where the filing carries them.

2.4

Several classes, one filer: each share class resolves to its own ticker on the same CIK, and the record says so.

2.5

Supervised by the Securities and Exchange Commission and FINRA; the record is public-record only — no prices, quotes or licensed market data, nothing inferred, blank stays blank.

United States (us-cm-kg). No dei:AuditorName tag on the latest annual report cover for foreign private issuers (20-F, 40-F) and for older filings — auditor stays blank with the note carried on the field. Several US ISINs on one LEI leave the ISIN blank with the list in the note. Issuers whose exact legal name is not on a GLEIF record in a US jurisdiction carry no LEI.
